School counselors are very excited to be part of AASCD. The history of school counseling is an interesting one beginning with vocational guidance in the early 1900s evolving into today’s completely different comprehensive school counseling programs. As we look forward to the future, today’s ideal programs are very defined and aligned to both national and state standards designed to direct counselors to do what’s best for kids.
Today’s school counselors are educational leaders, collaborators, and change agents. Please plan to join us for this year’s summer conference where we will explore and discuss current school counseling issues. We will also share strategies designed to meet the academic, career, and personal/social needs of all children.
